ABOUT

My name is Lisanne van Gent, an illustrator in the make & RASL Dual Degree alumna based in Rotterdam.

RASL means Rotterdam Arts and Science Lab, which perfectly summarizes what I am interested in: illustration (Willem de Kooning Academie) and Arts and Culture Studies at Erasmus University.

I grew up on the Dutch countryside, so the contrast with the big city was drastic, but also very intruiging to me. This is thus a topic you can find back in my work.

Furthermore, my work is centered around topics of body positivity and femininity, exploring questions of womanhood. This is something I would like to expand on in my future work, together with my interest in textiles.
